Randy graduated from the University of Washington, College of Architecture and Urban Planning in 1988. He is a Registered Architect in the State of Washington.

I’ve been interested in design and construction from an early age (I was the kid who may have gotten in trouble for drawing in class, but always had the best tree fort.) Working in construction while still in high school gave me an understanding for the practical side of the industry, as well as its craft. My early appreciation of design led me to a career as an architect. However, I never lost my passion for construction and still love building, whether it’s a piece of furniture, a house — or even a school project with my kids.

I’ve always believed that great design and great construction go hand in hand. Unfortunately, too many projects are designed without the construction in mind and, conversely, many are built without the design in mind.

From remodels to large custom homes, I’ve been involved in the design and construction of custom homes and remodels for over 20 years. I’ve learned the importance of treating the client as a critical team member. I see my role in projects as a facilitator: by listening to the client’s dreams and desire, I can apply my experience and expertise to help make them a reality.
